Adil Kusmanov
Adil Kusmanov is the Deputy Chairman of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The agency’s main goal is to develop effective reforms for increasing country’s competitiveness and the welfare of the people. Adil coordinates macroeconomic and social policy issues, and also is responsible for the interaction with international financial organisations.
Previously he served as a Chairman of the Management Board of JSC “Centre for International Programs” – the administrator of Kazakhstan’s “Bolashak” International Scholarship Programme. The centre’s work focuses on preparing highly qualified professionals for priority sectors of Kazakhstan’s economy through international education and training opportunities at leading universities and organisations worldwide.
Adil has extensive experience in socio-economic policy and reform implementation, including work on the National Development Plan, the “National Fund for Children” programme, the Investment Policy Concept and a methodology for increasing the minimum wage. Adil is a member of the Presidential Youth Personnel Reserve, the Council on Youth Policy under the President of Kazakhstan, and the Expert Club under the Senate.
