Andriy Shevchenko

Andriy Shevchenko is a former Deputy Minister of Defence for European integration (2023), Ambassador of Ukraine to Canada and ICAO (2015–2021), and Member of Parliament (2006–2014). Before his political career, he was a prominent journalist and co-founder of 5th Channel, Ukraine’s first 24/7 news channel. For his contributions during the Orange Revolution, he was honoured with the Press Freedom Award by Reporters Without Borders (Vienna, 2005).

Andriy currently serves as Head of Mission in Ukraine for the Ukrainian World Congress. The goal of this organisation is to strengthen the cooperation of the global Ukrainian community with the Ukrainian authorities, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, international partners, and the broader Ukrainian community.
