Anna Makhlay
Programme Manager
Anna is a project manager and a specialist in strategic planning and networking. She graduated from the Faculty of Law, Taras Shevchenko National University in Kyiv and has worked as an expert of the legislative process in Ukraine. Anna has experience working with the legislative and executive authorities of Ukraine and in establishing effective communication and cooperation between state and public structures. Anna was responsible for organising the round tables, public hearings, and discussions, which contributed to the development of good governance in Ukraine. She’s also a John Smith Fellow from 2010.
Since coming to the UK, she’s been engaged in a number of initiatives aimed at designing the post-war future of Ukraine, including the Wilton Park initiative on Ukraine recovery and reconstruction and the John Smith Trust’s Oxford Ideas Exchange.
