Erika Paine

Network Manager

Erika is responsible for managing our network of more than 500 Fellows. She helps nurture connections across the region and with the UK. She facilitates collaborations across our themes of governance and justice, climate and sustainability, and equitable and inclusive development.

After twenty years living in Moscow, Washington DC, Sarajevo/Bosnia & Herzegovina and Ljubljana/Slovenia, Erika returned to the UK – first working for BBC Media Action projects in North Africa and the Middle East before joining the John Smith Trust in 2019. Her initial role was action plan meetings coordinator, then programme coordinator before becoming network manager in 2021.  Erika has a degree from London University in Italian and French.
