Call for Applications: JST Fellows’ Council 2026-28
The John Smith Trust is inviting applications for the next Fellows’ Council as part of its regular rotation process.
About the Fellows’ Council
The Council is an advisory group that connects Fellows with the JST Team and Board, ensuring Fellows’ perspectives help shape the Trust’s strategic direction.
What’s New This Year
- Each country will now be represented by two Council members
- Fellows can apply directly or nominate another Fellow
Expectations
Council members are expected to:
- Represent and be a voice for their country Fellows’ community
- Attend regular online Council meetings (once every three months)
- Facilitate country-focused and thematic contributions to the wider network
- Participate in the annual Ideas Exchange Forum
Role and Responsibilities
Council members will:
- Act as a sounding board for strategic decisions
- Facilitate communication between JST and Fellows in their country
- Support recruitment and selection of new Fellows
- Promote JST’s values and programme
- Contribute ideas, speakers, and themes
- Advise the Director and Board when needed

Selection Process
A committee of JST Team and Trustees will select the new representatives, taking into account the expression of interests submitted, number of nominations and balance of representation.
